Ealing Council’s Prevent team continue to support local communities to play a vital role in building resilience against extremism and radicalisation harms. The establishment of thelong running Prevent Advisory Group in Ealing (PAGE) representing local faith and community settings helps to ensure we collectively engage on the issues that matter to us and that we contribute the sentiments of local communities.

Warda Mohamed said: “I was recently thrilled to be elected as the Chair alongside my colleague Abdi Yasin (Deputy Chair) by members of the PAGE committee group. We aim to deliver our local commitment with each of our Prevent Community Advisors by leading on an ambitious community engagement programme. I wish for us to develop a tangible resource to build community resilience not only around radicalisation but also other social risks which contribute to the driving factors of extremism, this is essentially the purpose of what our PAGE Committee group aim to do. What is amazing about this committee group, is that for the first time all the different organisations and community groups will have the opportunity to lead on a specific portfolio which includes engaging with residents, young people, parents and key diaspora communities that are integral to positive engagement.”
