"I have to say that I found the training session extremely helpful and thought provoking. I think that everyone working with vulnerable asylum-seeking young people would benefit from this training. Using real-life examples was an excellent way of challenging stereotypical views and will hopefully allow people to never give up on the young people they support."
Bridget Newham - Team Leader (Asylum, NHS and Adult Social Care)

"I must applaud the presenters who were personable, knowledgeable and engaging, and made the session very enjoyable and not as staid as many of these types of training. The format really encouraged discussion and exploration and allowed participants to interact and challenge (respectfully) whilst sharing insights and strategies that were helpful and really got us thinking. The training was so good that I intend to attend another full session. Very interested to see what additional learnings I am able to achieve."

“The training Lasting Support Services provided on the radicalisation of young people was very informative. Our staff really enjoyed the interactive sections of the training. The delivery of the training was professional, and staff were positively engaged.”

“As a frontline professional, the course was the best and most useful training I have attended in years. The facilitator and young person assisting were excellent. The course had a good balance between facts and practical workshops and the exercises were informative and experiential which allowed the participants to share in a safe & comfortable environment. I was introduced to new concepts in particular; the drawbacks of sharing concerns about possible radicalisation too early as the young person may be just exploring ideas with me as an adult. I learned a lot by hearing the survivor facilitator’s experiences of being a young person in the care system.”

“Lasting Support Services’ session was insightful, especially with the young facilitator with lived experience giving her own experience of how she was radicalised or manipulated into joining a harmful group. Although it wasn’t a terrorist group, it was still educational to hear it from someone who has experienced grooming personally.”
